“As many have probably heard in the news, a breach of credit and debit card data at retailer Target may have affected as many as 40 million shoppers that used debit or credit cards in their stores during the three weeks after Thanksgiving, from 11/27/13 to 12/15/2013.
The thieves reportedly gained access to data on the magnetic stripe of the shoppers’ cards, potentially allowing them to produce counterfeit versions. The thieves could also potentially withdraw cash from ATM machines using counterfeit debit cards if they were able to intercept PIN data from Target.
If you used either your debit or credit card from My Community during that time at any Target store, please feel free to come into any branch for a replacement card with new number at no cost to you. This will protect you from any possible fraud going forward. If you already have had fraudulent transactions, please contact a member service representative immediately. We are here to help you!”
